The FreedomPay Integration once configured from HQ allows you to connect to the various reader types that are supported by TRAY. FreedomPay is a cloud-based payment gateway which can process credit cards online or offline.*
*FreedomPay Store and Forward is only supported in TRAY version 6.10 or higher
NOTE: If using TCP/Ethernet/Wi-Fi payment devices with the FreedomPay integration, your readers will need to be first configured on HQ with the respective configurations for that reader. You should be using static IP's if using these types of readers. The readers will need to be on the same network/subnet as the POS devices.
For configuration of readers in HQ see Payments - Readers (HQ).
For configuration of FP Credentials see "FreedomPay Integration (HQ)
Configuration:
- On the POS login into TRAY.
- Press the Functions button at the top of the screen.
- Within Functions, under configuration, press the Admin button and then select Reader.
- This can also be accessed from the login screen by tapping on the "Swipe Employee Card" button and long pressing on "Reset Reader"
- Selecting the Reader button will open the Reader Configuration. From the Reader Configuration screen both the Magnetic Strip Reader (also known as the MSR) credit card reader can be configured/enabled (some devices such as the Magtek eDyanmo and the Moby 5500 can serve both as a payment processing device and an MSR)
Magnetic Strip Reader Configurations
READER TYPE | DESCRIPTION |
None | Use if there is no MSR connected to the POS |
SecureMag | Used if there is an externally mounted ID-Tech SecureMag MSR. (this will also work for devices with integrated SecureMag readers i.e. Aures Yuno's, Panasonic) |
Internal MSR |
Used if your POS is an HP Engage All-In One |
MagTek eDynamo |
Used for any readers produced by MagTek
|
MicrosReader |

Moby 5500 |
Only select this option if you are using a Moby 5500 for credit card processing. NOTE: To use a Moby 5500 as an MSR, a custom PAL Package must be produced by Ingenico with the respective BIN ranges of cards that will be swiped in the reader as to whitelist said BIN ranges. |
Once the Reader Configuration is set for the MSR type, select the checkbox for the FreedomPay configuration to enable the pin pad for that device (if using a Moby 5500, this will automatically be connected).
NOTE: If you do not have the proper FreedomPay configurations enabled for your site on TRAY HQ, this checkbox will not be visible to you
- If you are using just USB connected readers, you only need to check the box, and then accept any applicable USB prompts from the Android OS to allow TRAY to access ####
- (#### will appear as the name of the respective USB device i.e. Lane 3000, Lane 3600, etc)
