Staff must have the required permissions to reopen a closed check. From the POS "Checks" tab, you can see the buttons on the bottom of the screen which display a list of OPEN checks or CLOSED checks.
Staff can select a check to view from the CLOSED checks list or recall any check from any point in time by typing in the check number and hitting "Recall Check"
NOTE: If the check is from a revenue center that is not one of your Eligible Services, you will not be able to access that check.
Permission Requirements: ReopenTab, ReopenOldTab (this permission is reserved for development purposes)
Reopening a Closed Check:
- Login to the POS and press the Checks button at the top of the screen.
- At the bottom of the screen, the employee can select to view OPEN checks or CLOSED checks.
- The list of checks displays. Select the check you want to modify, discount, comp, or edit payments. Once the check is selected, press the Reopen Check button to allow editing of check.
- If the check is from the current trading day, the system will prompt you for the ReopenTab permission.
- If the system is from a previous trading day, the system will prompt you for the ReopenOldTab permission. If no users have this permission, you will see a toast message displaying "Missing Permission: ReopenOldTab"
After reopening the check, you can perform any necessary functions such as performing voids/comps/discounts/refunds etc. The check cannot be closed again until the check balance is zero.
