Issuing Bonus Cards (POS)

This article will detail how to issue an SVS Bonus Card. A summary of the steps is outlined below:

• Order - First you must add the prerequisite amount of SVS Gift Card items to the cart to meet the Bonus Card minimum value. For example, you must have $25 dollars worth of gift cards in the cart before the POS will allow you to add the $5 Bonus Card item to the cart. (Example Below)
• Activate Gift Cards - Then you must swipe your gift cards
• Pay - Apply a full payment to the check
• Activate Bonus Cards - Once the payment has been applied you will then be prompted to swipe your bonus cards

Navigate to the menu with your Gift Card products 

Add the regular gift cards FIRST, and then add the bonus cards

Note: If you try to add the bonus card(s) in the cart before you've met the minimum gift card value requirement, you will receive an error message from the POS. Example below:

When you add a bonus card to the cart, you will immediately be prompted to input a quantity of bonus cards, which should meet the above prerequisite for issued cards.

Send the order and progress to the payment screen. The status of each gift card product is indicated by a small white bubble next to the price 0/1 Swiped. Upon firing, you will immediately be prompted to swipe the gift cards. If you attempt to take any other action on the cart, such as a payment, you will be prompted first to swipe your gift cards.

Example:

Once the gift card has been confirmed as swiped it will show a (1/1 Loaded) next to the item in the cart, and a chit will print from the printer showing the issued balance as well as the last 4 of the card.

The Bonus Card will still show as 0/1 Swiped. You can not activate the bonus card until a full payment has been applied to the check. Once your full payment has been applied, you will then be immediately prompted to activate the Bonus Card.

If you encounter some issue with activating the bonus card, either due to a reader issue, card issue, or some other issue, you may proceed with closing the check without voiding the bonus card item from the card. If you choose not to proceed with activating a bonus card through the POS, you will be prompted by the app with a confirmation that the bonus card has not been activated (you can not reopen the check and attempt to activate another bonus card once this has been accepted)
