Lane 3000 Troubleshooting
If your system is utilizing Freedom Pay & Ingenico Lane 3000's, follow these troubleshooting steps to ensure the device is properly configured.
1. Ensure the device is plugged into a USB 3.0 port. Over time the device will lose power if not connected to a 3.0 port. These ports are typically blue in color. If the port you are plugged into is not powering on the device, you should always try to plug the malfunctioning device into a working port on another terminal to rule out the port as the issue.
2. If the device is powered on but you're still having issues, you should always try rebooting the reader first. Holding the Yellow & pound (#) symbol at the same time will reboot the device. You can also unplug the USB and plug it back in.
3. Once the device is powered on and the TRAY app is up, you need to ensure the terminal is configured for a Freedom Pay device.
- From the login screen of the TRAY app, press the "swipe employee card" dialogue underneath the pin pad.
- From here press and hold on "Reset Reader" which will prompt you to enter a managers authorization to access the reader settings.
- Once you have accessed the reader settings, if this location has been configured with Freedom Pay credentials, you will see a checkbox to enable the connection to the Freedom Pay device. Check this box then hit the green "Connect" button.
- This should not be confused with the "Set reader type" dropdown above the checkbox, which is for selecting the Magnetic Strip Reader for the terminal.
