Staff with the appropriate permissions can apply tax exemptions to a check which will prompt the user for a Tax ID. All existing, and any additional items, on the check will then be exempted from tax.
All the tax exemption records are tracked in the POS Activity Report in TRAY HQ.
To provide tax exemption:
- Add items to the cart.
- Select Tax Exempt ID.
- Enter the guest Tax Exempt ID and select SAVE.
Once the Tax ID is entered the tax exemption is applied to all items in the check. Once a tax exemption has been applied to a check, items will not be able to be transferred between a tax-exempt check and a non tax-exempt check. Transfers are only allowed between checks with the same tax status. The Daily Sales Report, Financial Management Report and the Tax Summary Report will show the total for all tax exempt sales.
