Category allows you to define categories that menu items can be assigned to. If no categories are specified within the menu section, all items are set to Default.
You can specify a separate tax rate for each category, assign certain categories to different order printers, and set age restrictions for certain categories. Site reports can be broken down by category.
User with permissions can create, edit, and delete categories.
Adding a Category
To add a category:
- Login to TRAY HQ with your credentials.
- Select SITES.
The SITES screen appears.
- Select Categories.
The category screen appears.
- Select Add Category.
The Add Category screen appears.
Following table provides the details for UI fields of add category screen.
Enter the name for the category
Enter the printer name
Enter the tax rate for the category.
The field name and field functionality does not match
Select the tax type. Select from the drop-down menu.
- Round down
- Round to nearest
Enter the minimum user age to qualify for selling the items in the category.
- Select Save to create the category or select Cancel to discard the changes.
The category gets added to the list.
To edit the category, select Edit link against the category and make changes.
To delete a category, select Delete link against the category.
Adding Age Restriction Message
Some food items or drinks requires a certain age restriction for user to qualify to order or buy.
Sites can create categories for such items and add age restriction so the staff can verify the user’s age before entertaining their order.
You can add an age restriction message for the category by selecting the Add Age Restriction tab and adding the message.
